Then I found I needed to repeat repair for the other end. I grabbed a coilly hose (You know, one of those cheap hoses that maintain a tight coil, but can be stretched if you don’t kink one of the coils.) from yet another air system. (Sprites start picking up speed as things go downhill.) This hose was a special senco hose so I couldn’t put one of my spare ends on it. The female snap connector of that hose was broke. I grabbed the hose on my little senco compressor. I fired up the compressor out in the barn. Back to the barn to get an air impact wrench. I’ve always believed that this mischief is caused by mechanical sprites. I’m sure everyone has projects that just don’t quite work right. I’m not real strong right now, and the placement of the bolts didn’t add up to clear 90 degree angles, and there isn’t any way to extend the breaker bars with a cheater pipe. If that is clear, inspect the male part of the buckle to see if something. Extend it to full length and see if there might be something stuck on the belt, rather than on the buckle grit, gum, cut, or anything sticky. But I did take a quick pic when I gave up. I widened my search to solve my lack of working seatbelt problem. (Junkyards, which required long drive in truck without seatbelt.) ![]() Price check two was a more reasonable $50. So, I opened my laptop and went to a big autoparts site. As long as you keep maintenance up on it, it last forever. With this project, idea 1: see how much a replacement seatbelt would cost. Please fix and I would drive this car until it hits 1 million miles. Something needs to be done about both of these concerns. I would purchase another if I can find one. It was magically only 24 hours from the warranty covering it. And when I took it to the dealership to be repainted after I played for the car. And it's also got a rust spot along the back left wheel lip. I use maguires wax and polish every time. It's yellow, and I hand polish and wax it once before spring, summer, and winter. As for the body of the car, the paint is faiding fast. The steering wheel shakes while braking as well. ![]() ![]() It does cause me to drive more cautiously especially in the back roads along with wet pavement. This has happened ever since I've had the car. If I feel something out of the ordinary, I know something is off. I'm very anal on how my car looks and drives. Even after having out brand new brakes, rotors and calipers. It's always had a vibration while braking. I've owned my 2002 Mazda Protege5 for 7 years now.
